The Ghana Armed Forces Z9 helicopter reportedly lost contact with air control shortly after takeoff. The aircraft cr@shed in a forest area near Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region, while heading to Obuasi for an official launch of mining and skills development (government assignment).
Eyewitnesses and early reports indicate that the cr@$h was severe, with no survivors found at the scene. Emergency response teams rushed to the site, where they discovered the charred remains of the helicopter and victims.
The cr@sh has shocked Ghanaians across the country. Tributes are pouring in from citizens, politicians, and international partners. The President and government are expected to announce national mourning in the coming hours.
