Ghana Government W@rns DStv: Possible $hutdown Loom$ by September 6.

The Government of Ghana has issued a strong w@rning to satellite TV giant DStv, giving them until September 6, 2025 to provide full pricing data for discussions on subscription fee reductions.

According to Hon. Sam George, Minister of Communications, the government believes that Ghanaians are paying unfairly high rates compared to other African countries. He stressed that transparency is key, and if DStv fails to cooperate, the service could be $hut down nationwide.

“We will not allow Ghanaian consumers to be explore!ted. DStv must open up their books so we can negotiate fair pricing,” Sam George declared.

This move comes after months of public complaints over frequent fee hikes and lack of affordable package options. Many citizens have turned to alternatives such as streaming platforms and digital TV, but DStv still remains dominant in Ghana’s pay-TV space.

If the de@dline passes without compliance, Ghana could become the first African country to legally bl0ck DStv services over pricing issues.

All eyes are now on DStv, will they reduce their fees or R!sk losing millions of Ghanaian viewers?
